The 2016 Airtricity Under-19 league season will begin on the weekend of March 13th.

The new league format will be two regional divisions, North and South.

Derry City have been placed in the Northern Division along with – Athlone Town, Bohemians, Drogheda United, Dundalk, Finn Harps, Longford Town, Shelbourne, Sligo Rovers and St. Patrick’s Athletic

The Southern Division will include the following clubs: Limerick, Cork City, Cobh Ramblers, Galway United, Wexford Youths, Waterford United, Cabinteely, Bray Wanderers, UCD and Shamrock Rovers

  • Each club will play each other twice, home and away, and the top four from each division will enter the play-offs.
  • Teams outside of the top four in both divisions will play in a Shield competition.
  • There will be a mid-season break for three weeks to coincide with the Leaving Cert and the European Championships.
  • Details of a Cup competition will be announced at a further date.
  • Each squad will consist of 22 players with a transfer window in place from July 1 – July 31.
