Derry City U17s make their second long trip in the space of four days when they travel to the Carlisle Grounds on Wednesday to face Bray Wanderers in the quarter-final of the Mark Farren Cup.

The Candy Stripes will bid to reach the last four of the competition for only the second time.

City reached the quarter-finals thanks to a comfortable 4-1 win over Monaghan/Cavan FP in the second round, with goals from Patrick Ferry 2, Ronan McKinley and Evan McLaughlin.

Derry go into the tie on the back of an excellent 1-0 victory over Bohemians/SKB on Sunday. Kyle McCann headed home just before the interval to net his first goal for the club and grab three important points for City.

The winners will have home advantage in the semi-final against either St Patrick’s Ath or Bohemians.
