Underage results week-ending May 19

It was a mixed weekend for City’s underage sides with two wins and two defeats from the four games played.

SSE Airtricity Under-15 Group One:
Derry City 0-1 Sligo Rovers
Birdell Bosakani (Sligo)

On Saturday afternoon, Conor Loughrey’s U15 outfit hosted Sligo Rovers at the Ryan McBride Brandywell Stadium looking for a win that would propel them to the top of Group One. Derry came into the fixture on the back of three straight victories over Mayo FC, Finn Harps and Longford Town, scoring twelve times in the process and without conceding. The Derry City U15 Airtricity League development squad have signed Ronan McKinley from Donegal Schoolboys Club Lagan Harps.

Ronan is from Newtowncunningham and is a current international for the Republic of Ireland U15s. He scored the third goal in 4-1 win against Norway during an invitational tournament in Prague earlier this year.

The Deele College student, can operate in a number of positions and will be a valuable addition to Justin Green’s squad when the inaugural U15 league kicks off next month.

He made his first appearance for City at the opening of the new pitch at Illies FC last weekend.
